Students Perform Monologues and Confessional Poems

Inspired by the work of Langston Hughes, Sharon Olds, Robert Hayden and Lorraine Hansberry, Columbia students will be performing their own dialogues and confessional poems on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at 7:00 pm in the CHS Black Box Theatre. The admission is free.

The students wrote these performance pieces in Ms. Stacey Lawrence’s drama and poetry classes through a series of teacher led student writing exercises. Joining the Columbia High School performers will be two South Mountain students, Chloe and Sophie Lawrence, who will also be reciting their own work.
