Prof. John Davis, University of Conneticut will discuss his book "The Jews of San Nicandro". This lecture will explore the reasons why a groups of poor southern Italians decided to covert to the Jewish faith in the early 1930'. their story began during the years of Fascism and was played out against the backdrop of the Second World War, the diaspora of European Jews and the founding of the State of Israel where the converts finally settled.
