TC Candidates Debate TV Schedule Announced

Bart Albini and Bob Perez (R) faced off against Jerry Ryan and Kathy Leventhal (D) in the second and final debate of the Township Committee; the debate will air on SOMAtv Tuesday through Friday

About 13 people came to watch the four candidates for Maplewood Township Committee debate last night at the Columbia High School television studio.

If you think that number is low, please be aware that the studio really couldn't accommodate many more, though we did not notice any throngs in the hallways clamoring to get in. In addition, it should be noted that the debate was airing live on SOMAtv (Channel 35 for Maplewood residents with Comcast). Lindy Wilson, president of the League of Women Voters of Maplewood and South Orange, which was the sponsor of the debate, just sent us the following television schedule for rebroadcasts of the debate this week:

Tuesday at 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
Thursday at 2 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Friday at 3 p.m.

The candidates offered no surprises but seemed to offer more details than in their past debate. To see more of the candidates, watch segments from the previous debate related to school budget, police station development and redevelopment and the municipal budget. In addition, read our profiles of Jerry Ryan, Bob Perez and Kathy Leventhal. Our profile of Bart Albini will post tomorrow evening.
