Forecast Prompts Cancellation of HarvestFest on Springfield Avenue
The event has been canceled due to predictions of inclement weather. There is no make-up date.

Predictions for a day of hard-driving freezing rain have prompted town officials to cancel the annual HarvestFest on Springfield Avenue that was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is no make-up date for the event.
The annual event was to see some significant changes this year — Walgreens had signed on as lead sponsor for $5,000 and the festival was to take place all in one area on the grounds of the Hilton Branch of the Maplewood Library. The annual festival includes local food, music, entertainment, activities for the kids, classic cars and more. The festival is organized by the Springfield Avenue Partnership.

Throughout the month of October, the Springfield Avenue Partnership has leading up to the event. The Partnership has also continued with the tradition of painting the center stripe along Springfield Avenue pink (paint donated by Ricciardi Brothers and service by Statewide Striping) and wrapping pink bows on trees in the district in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
