Former Maplewood Police Director, Paul Gizzo

Former Maplewood Police Director Paul Gizzo has passed away, it was regretfully announced by current Police Chief Robert Cimino on Friday.

Gizzo started as a patrolman in April 1970 and retired as a Captain in March 1995. Upon retirement, Gizzo served as Maplewood's Police Director from 1995 to 1999.

Maplewood Police Captain Dombrowski and Lieutenant Mault will coordinate honor guard and escorts for Gizzo's viewing and funeral.

Arrangements are being made at the Holle Funeral Home at 2122 Millburn Avenue in Maplewood.

Visiting hours are on Monday, June 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 9 Parsippany Road, in Whippany, N.J.
