Glass Door Shattered During Maplewood Home Burglary: Police
The resident heard banging coming from the first floor, then heard glass breaking. Here's what happened next, police say.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A glass door was shattered during a home burglary in Maplewood last week, authorities say.
According to the Maplewood Police Department, officers responded to a home on Oakland Road at 5:32 a.m. on March 5 after getting a report about a burglary in progress.
The caller told police that he heard banging coming from the first floor, then heard glass breaking. When he entered the kitchen, he saw that the back door was shattered – and two unknown men were there.

The men fled the property and drove away in a light-colored SUV, police said.
An investigation continues, authorities said.
