GPS Trackers On All SOMSD Buses: Report
Every bus in the district is equipped with GPS devices or systems, according to a report by the Village Green.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ - In response to the traveling and tracking difficulties encountered by the district during the Nov. 15 snowstorm, the South-Orange Maplewood School District has installed GPS systems on its busses, according to the Village Green.
The GPS systems and equipment are for both its in-house buses and its contracted buses, the report said.
In the report, Interim Superintendent Thomas Ficcara said each bus now has a messaging system that will allow the district to be able to track and locate buses in real time and to send out individual messages to each bus.
