Grab Free Goods On Monday After Maplewood Bulk Drop-Off Day Saturday

You can get rid of your bulk items in Maplewood this weekend, and pick out something to "repurpose" starting Monday.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — One person's trash can become another person's treasure in Maplewood this coming week.

Maplewood Township will host its bi-annual day to drop off unwanted bulk garbage this Saturday — and the starting Monday, you can pick up someone else's discarded items to repurpose.

The Bulk Drop-Off Program will take place this Saturday, June 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works Facility (359 Boyden Ave).

In an effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle more, the Township has invited residents to browse the items dropped off for repurposing.

"The Township receives a variety of items as part of our Bulk Drop-Off Day, including gently used furniture and other home goods," they noted, "This year, the Department of Public Works will be categorizing these items as they are received. In the week following Bulk Drop-Off Day, residents are encouraged to come to the Department of Public Works to see if they would like to repurpose and rehome any of these items."

Pick-ups will be allowed starting Monday, June 6 at 9 a.m. and will remain allowed during DPW operating hours until the facility closes on Friday, June 10 at 3:30 p.m.
