Hilton Rain Garden Opens Saturday

The Maplewood Garden Club will celebrate the official opening of the Hilton Rain Garden with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 2 at 11:30 am next to the .

One of the , funded by a $10,000 environmental grant from NJ American Water (NJAWC) and built by the Maplewood Garden Club with the help of Maplewood Township, the rain garden is expected to recharge about 167,000 gallons of water into our ground water aquifers each year. So far, in 2012 it has been meeting the challenge without difficulty.

Representatives from the Garden Club, the Township and NJAWC will be present to join in the opening ceremony. The community is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting, and to learn more about how the rain garden benefits the water supply and enriches the environment. Refreshments will be served.
