MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Got an old Christmas tree to get rid of in Maplewood?

The township recently issued a post-holiday reminder that Christmas trees may be disposed of until Jan. 29 at the public works facility, 359 Boyden Avenue.

Here are some other things to keep in mind if you’re throwing out a tree in Maplewood:

  • Trees must be bare and free of all decorations
  • No wreaths or garlands
  • Weather and equipment failures may cause a delay in collection (typically no more than one or two days)
  • If the DPW gets ahead of schedule, the team may come through your section early, but will return during your scheduled day
  • No trees should be put in the street after your final collection day
  • The DPW will not collect trees after the last scheduled collection day. After this date, residents are responsible for disposing of their trees.
