Kari's Cafe on the Market for $85K
The popular coffee house is listed on Craigslist, but the owner is open to potential investors and partners in the business.

It's been a busy day for business news, with 3r Living owner Mark Casserta announcing that store's closing and now Kari Capone confirming that Kari's Cafe is for sale.
Maplewoodian.com broke the Kari's Cafe news late this afternoon and posted a link to the craigslist ad for the sale of Kari's. Maplewoodian Joe Strupp confirmed with owner Kari Capone that the business is for sale for $85,000. In a conversation with Patch, Capone said that she is very much open to remaining an owner of the cafe if she can identify potential investors or business partners "who have a heart for Springfield Avenue flourishing and blooming."

Located on the busiest corner of Maplewood (location, location, location!) with plenty of foot traffic, a dedicated customer base, and several town parking lots as well as surrounding street parking. The business has been in existence for ten years, first as an Internet cafe, then as a coffee shop and bakery. Commercial kitchen installed in April 2010 includes a three-compartment sink, dedicated hot water heater, grease trap, stainless steel work table, and refrigerator/freezer. Full basement with ample storage includes a separate room with an upright and a chest freezer.
