Maplewood Middle School Code Red 'False Alarm': Police
Potential weapon threat wasn't credible, officials said.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Maplewood Middle School was placed on a Code Red lockdown Tuesday morning after a student reported a possible weapon was brought to school, according to Maplewood Middle School Principal Dara Gronau.
"While it was not a credible threat, we always take any threat to the safety of students and staff seriously," Gronau said in an email. " Therefore we immediately involved the Maplewood Police."
The Code Red caused a "full scale lockdown" where the building is checked and cleared.
