Maplewood Community Concert Band Performs Free Outdoor Concert at the Memorial Park Amphitheater in Maplewood on July 22 at 7 p.m.

The Maplewood Community Concert Band will perform its free annual old fashioned outdoor summer concert.

The Maplewood Community Concert Band will host its final concert of the 2014 - 2015 season on Wednesday, July 22 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Amphitheater in Maplewood located at the corner of Dunnell Rd and Oakview Ave, just down the hill from the train station.

Under the direction of Steve Kimmons, the band will perform a program of music from around the world. Xylophone soloist Jasmine Bloch-Krempels -- band member and the 5th Grade Band Director for the South Orange - Maplewood School District -- will be featured on George Hamilton Green’s “Ragtime Robin”, arranged for concert band by band member Bob Renshaw.

It’s FREE! Invite family and friends, pack a lawn chair/blanket and picnic, and join us for an evening of music on the hill! Refreshments will be available for purchase. 100% of the proceeds will go to Maplewood Community Music to support its tradition of performing free public concerts and offering free youth music enrichment programs throughout the area.

The Maplewood Community Concert Band is one of the several amateur bands and ensembles supported by Maplewood Community Music, a nonprofit that offers musicians -- regardless of age and skill level -- the opportunity to play with peers in a fun and relaxed environment. All musicians volunteer their time to share their love of playing music with audiences through the Maplewood area and to enrich and inspire the lives of everyone, especially our youth, through music. The organization operates primarily through donations and with support from the Maplewood Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs.

There is no rain date.
