Maplewood Deputy Fire Chief Calls It A Career
Walter Nugent III was honored for 25 years of service to the Maplewood Fire Department.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ - After a quarter-century of service to the Maplewood Fire Department, Deputy Chief Walter Nugent III has called it a career.
Nugent was honored last Tuesday at the Maplewood Township Committee meeting for his 25 years of dedicated service to the Maplewood Fire Department, according to the Maplewood FMBA Local 25.
"The members of Maplewood FMBA Local 25 would like to wish you good luck on your retirement and your future endeavors," the group posted to their Facebook page.

To fill the void left by Nugent, the Maplewood Fire Department elevated Captain Brett Derewsky to the rank of Deputy Chief and Firefighter Ciro D'Urso to the rank of Captain.
Both were sworn in to their new positions at last Tuesday's Maplewood Township Committee meeting.
