Maplewood Dogs Can Take A Dip In Town Pool: Sept. 9 Event

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — They call them the “dog days of summer” for a reason. And on Saturday, Sept. 9, the dogs of Maplewood will get their day.
Maplewood town officials will hold a “Dog Days of Summer” event for local pooches at the Maplewood Community Pool on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to municipal officials, the free event is open to all Maplewood residents.
Some caveats:

- Dogs should be friendly and socialize well with other dogs and humans
- All dogs must be licensed and wearing their tag
- Dogs showing signs of aggression will be asked to leave
- One handler can bring a maximum of two dogs
- Dogs must be on a leash from the parking lot to the pool area
- Don’t bring toys that your dog is possessive about (balls are OK)

“This event is for dogs to swim in the pool, not for people,” municipal officials stated. “Please do not bring your children with the idea that they will be able to go swimming, they will be disappointed.”
