Maplewood Event To Support Ukraine Will Be Held In Local Park Thursday

MAPLEWOOD AND SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — A "Pray for Ukraine" event will be held this Thursday night in a park in South Orange.

The event will be sponsored by Maplewood Township, South Orange Village, the SOMA Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Newark, and the Maplewood Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Ascension.

The South Orange Maplewood Chamber of Commerce will match local donations to the "United for Ukraine Fund" to support transportation, shelter, food, medicine, and child care supplies for those weathering the strife or fleeing the Ukraine.

The event in solidarity with the people of Ukraine will take place in Spiotta Park on Thursday, April 7 at 6 p.m.
