Maplewood Schools: High School Graduation And Juneteenth Holiday Dates Set

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Public school students in the South Orange-Maplewood district can't head into summer vacation just yet. They have one more week of school after this week. See the calendar here.

According to the calendar, schools are closed this Friday, June 17 for Juneteenth.

Juneteenth, or Emancipation Day, is a new federal holiday commemorating the end of Slavery in the United States. It's also a state holiday in five states, including New Jersey.

After that, students return for a full week with several half days.

Columbia High School graduation is tentatively scheduled for next week.
