Maplewood officials are inviting local homeowners to participate in an affordable housing program that can provide up to $20,000 for repairs
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood township officials are inviting local homeowners to participate in an affordable housing program that can provide up to $20,000 for home repairs.
According to a township news release, the program provides funds that can be used for roofs and foundations, heating and electrical, windows and insulation and plumbing. Applicants must own their own home and live in Maplewood to be eligible.

- 1-person household - $50,744
- 2-person household - $57,993
- 3-person household – $65,242
- 4-person household – $72,492
- 5-person household – $78,291
- 6-person household – $84,090
- 7-person household – $89,890
- 8-person household – $95,689
There is no cost to apply for the program and it doesn’t affect a person’s credit score, town officials stated. Funds are provided as a no-interest, 10-year forgivable loan, and a professional inspector oversees the process. There is no monthly payment.
