Maplewood Makos Swimmers Attack Divisional Meet at Verona

Next is the Meet of Champions on July 29 in New Providence.

A groggy school of over 50 Maplewood Makos swimmers swarmed the pool at 6:30 this morning, to participate in the Divisional Finals, held in Verona. Almost immediately, it became clear, there were sharks in the pool.

Under the azure skies of a stellar summer morning and with Herculean efforts by all, numerous swimmers posted best times in the division, with hopes of moving on to the Meet of Champions. There, they'll compete against other best times from other Divisions. The MOC is to be held on Thursday, July 29, at New Providence. (Monday's results are in the attached pdf.)

The Makos have had a phenomenal season this year, under the direction of some incredible coaching. Daily, 7 a.m. workouts for all of the swimmers have proved taxing on the swim taxis (aka the parents), but the swimmers have benefited by getting into incredible physical shape, as well as generating an infectious, positive attitude.
