Maplewood Police Increasing Patrols Near Millburn Border

Maplewood police will be stepping up patrols near the township’s border with Millburn.

The increased patrols are being done in light of two recent crimes, according to a report.

On May 17, multiple pieces of jewelry and electronics were stolen from a Cypress Street home, according to the Maplewood Police Department.

On May 12, a home robbery involving a male suspect – who allegedly assaulted the homeowner while confronted during the encounter – prompted Millburn police to send out an alert to residents. [See related Patch article]

According to The Village Green:

“[Maplewood Police Chief Robert] Cimino added that, while police analyze each incident to determine similarities, ‘We do not have any clear indication that the Maplewood Cypress St burglary is related to the Millburn robbery at this time.’”
