Maplewood Police: Lock Your Doors

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - A series of burglaries in homes and autos in November prompted the Maplewood Police to issue a reminder to keep secure their property.

"The Maplewood Police Department works hard to protect the residents and their property," officials said. " We are asking that you assist us in this effort by making sure all vehicles and homes are properly secured at all times."

On Nov. 8 a burglary was reported during the evening hours where an an apartment on Newark Way was entered and electronics and sneakers were taken.

Also on Nov. 8, police responded to a report of a theft from auto. During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle parked on Prospect Street was entered and a wallet was stolen, police said.

Nov. 9 saw another theft from auto. During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle parked on Oakview Avenue was entered and coins were stolen.
