Maplewood Police Still Probing Hit-And-Run From Last Weekend, They Say

A pedestrian was struck by a car in Maplewood last weekend and the driver did not stay at the scene, police say.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Police in Maplewood are still investigating an apparent hit-and-run crash last Saturday that resulted in a 67-year-old resident being taken to the hospital.

Police said Thursday that last Saturday, Feb. 11, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the area of Chancellor Avenue and 44th Street at approximately 6:36 p.m.

"The striking vehicle did not remain on scene of the crash," police said.

The victim was taken to University Hospital and was treated for non- life-threatening injuries, police said.

"This is an ongoing investigation by the Maplewood Traffic Unit," police said.
