Maplewood Skateboarders Take A Sneak Peak Of New Park

Construction of the renovated, $135,000 facility was scheduled to complete on Aug. 7.

Maplewood’s new skate park isn’t open yet, but that isn’t stopping some local youth from testing it out.

According to the Maplewoodian, the municipal skate park – which was scheduled to reopen on Aug. 7 – saw several young visitors on Saturday despite the police tape and posted signs warning that “the use of this facility is prohibited until the project is completed.”

A photo on the website shows around a half-dozen young skateboarders and bikers in the unfinished park.
