Columbia High Students Robbed While Walking To School: Police

Maplewood police are searching for two men suspected of the alleged robbery. See their descriptions here.

Maplewood police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed a pair of Columbia High School students on Thursday morning as they were walking to school.

According to police, the students reported that the robbery took place on West Parker Avenue between 7 and 7:15 a.m.

The students told police that as they were passing Buckingham Gardens Parkway, a man approached them and demanded their cell phones and money.

According to the teens, the man threatened to shoot them if they didn’t comply.

There were no injuries during the incident, police stated.

The students described the man as a black male around 20-years-old, approximately six feet in height with a muscular build and irregular teeth, and wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a black North Face fleece.

According to police, a second possible suspect was observed standing near a black, four-door vehicle parked on Buckingham Gardens Parkway. Police described the man as a black male, approximately five feet 10 inches in height with a regular build, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.

The incident is currently under investigation, authorities added.
