New Jersey residents can anonymously turn in up to three guns, no questions asked. The buyback program at both locations will start at 10 am and run to 4 pm. Those who turn in guns will receive $25 for inoperable firearms, $125 for rifles and shotguns, $200 for handguns, and $250 for assault weapons. All weapons shouls be transported in a case, box, bag, or vehicle trunk. Law enforcement officers will be on hand to assist in securing the weapons as they are returned.
We applaud the acting Attorney General for moving forward with a gun back program and we will continue to fight to get guns--illegal or otherwise--off of our streets. Please come out to East Orange or Newark this Saturday if you have a gun in your possession which you are looking to dispose.
