Maplewood is searching for its next Crisis Intervention Social Worker. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: responding to calls in conjunction with the MPD/Health Department/Emergency Services/Fire for cases in which social work intervention is indicated, including but not limited to mental health crises, quality of life calls, wellness checks, domestic disputes and connection to community services.

The successful candidate will engage in ongoing collaboration with MPD/Health Department/Emergency Services/Fire around appropriate training and education to support a shift towards better understanding of the social work lens and best practices regarding de-escalation and non-punitive approaches. They will also work to develop systems for on-going follow up for community members in need and connections to social services that can enhance prevention of non-emergency calls and increase early intervention. The successful candidate should have, at minimum, a Master’s Degree in Social Work and at least two years’ experience working with at-risk, high-needs populations.
