BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Under direct supervision of the Health Officer, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing sanitary inspections and environmental health work involving enforcement of relevant sanitary, environmental and public health laws and rules within the concerned jurisdiction; conducting inspections, investigations and educational outreach activities; performing other related duties as required or necessary. Incumbent may give testimony in court cases, may investigate nuisance and violations of the sanitary code.
This is a two-year, grant-funded position through the federal Strengthening Local Public Health Capacity grant.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: BS degree in biology, public health or related field; valid Registered Environmental Health Specialist license issued by the NJ Department of Health. Minimum 2 years of experience preferred. Valid NJ Drivers License required.
SALARY: $47,000 - $51,000
