Maplewood Township's Springfield Avenue Traffic Signal Is Retimed

All 10 traffic signals on Springfield Avenue have been reprogrammed and retimed to provide more efficient travel time.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — All 10 traffic signals on Springfield Avenue have been reprogrammed and retimed to provide more efficient travel time, less vehicle congestion, and fewer vehicles on our side streets since the corridor is much more free-flowing, Maplewood Township said.

Motorists should now expect a much more efficient and enjoyable driving experience on Springfield Avenue, the township said.

The Township engaged Dynamic Traffic LLC to perform a traffic analysis on the functions of the traffic signals on Springfield Avenue and found multiple improvements that could be implemented. The Township funded these improvements with a collaborative effort with Essex County and implemented the improvements in November.
