Maplewood Traffic, Parking: PSEG Work Near Old Post Office On Tuesday

A PSE&G crew conducted unexpected work near the recently closed Maplewood Post Office on Tuesday, according to town officials.

Maplewood, NJ - A PSE&G crew conducted unexpected work near the recently closed Maplewood Post Office on Tuesday, according to town officials.

A township email advisory sent shortly after 10 a.m. stated that PSE&G "did not provide the township with advance notice of this work."

Work took place on Maplewood Avenue between Inwood Place and the south end of Ricalton Square, and involved disconnecting gas service at 160 Maplewood Avenue, municipal officials stated.

According to the email, vehicular traffic traveling north on Maplewood Avenue should turn left on Inwood Place as a detour. Vehicular traffic traveling south on Maplewood Avenue may enter the Ricalton Square parking lot. All parking spaces within this lot will be available.

The parking spots between Inwood Place and the south end of Ricalton Square will be unavailable for the duration of the work, town officials added.

"PSE&G expects to have this work completed by noon, Tuesday March 15," the email stated.
