Maplewood Village Alliance Announces New Director

The Maplewood Village Alliance has named Julie Doran to the position of Village Manager, effective November 1, 2009. Ms. Doran, a South Orange resident, has previously worked as a marketing executive and consultant. Ms. Doran replaces Amy Koehler, who is leaving the position after two years to pursue a career in social networking.

"The Maplewood Village Alliance interviewed several candidates for the position and considered many resumes," said John James, President of the organization that oversees the special improvement district. "There are a lot of creative and talented people in our community who applied for the position, but our five-member search committee found that Julie's skills were the best fit for the Alliance's needs."

Ms. Doran has lived in both Maplewood and South Orange.
