A Maplewoodian Makes News in Downtown Somerville

It's not so far from Springfield Avenue to downtown Somerville, NJ. But after working for and with the from 2001 through 2009, essaying the role of Executive Director of the Downtown Somerville Alliance is a big change for Beth Anne Macdonald, a Maplewood resident.

First, she'll be working for a larger downtown and with a larger budget — $500,000 annually. Much of the work will be similar, however: Somerville's priorities for 2012 are business recruitment and retention as well as communications.
