Masked Men Rob Panda Kitchen At Gunpoint: Maplewood Police

Authorities says the suspects forced the employees and their 8-year-old to the ground before manhandling and robbing a patron.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Maplewood Police are looking for three armed men who robbed Panda Kitchen at gunpoint on Sunday.

According to police, 9:26 p.m., there was an armed robbery reported at the Panda Kitchen located at 300 Parker Ave. Authorities said that three black males entered the store wearing masks and produced handguns. The suspects ordered the two employees, the employee's 8-year-old son, and a 66-year old customer to the ground, police said. The customer was slammed to the ground by one of the suspects and his personal belongings were removed from his pockets, police said.

Authorities said the suspects then removed $400 in cash from the register and an Apple iPad from behind the counter. All parties on scene refused medical attention and there were only minor injuries reported, police said.

Public safety cameras show the vehicle involved was a dark colored older model Chevy impala last seen heading east on Irvington Ave and makes a right on Franklin Terrace.

Detectives were recalled to investigate the incident, police said.
