MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Anyone entering a Maplewood Township building will have to wear a mask, the Township Committee decided unanimously on Tuesday night, according to a report in TAPInto.

In addition, town employees will have to get either a COVID vaccine or frequent testing, the township announced, following the lead of Hoboken. READ MORE: All Hoboken City Employees Must Get COVID Vaccine Or Tests

Village Green reported the same night that a 37th Maplewood resident has died of COVID.

Earlier this week, the death toll had remained at 36.

The vaccine is 95 percent effective against the virus — and for those who still get it, it reduces the chance of hospitalization and death, medical professionals say. But many people are still unvaccinated, and the Delta variant of the virus spreads more easily than others. Children under 12 still cannot be vaccinated.
