Mini-Car Show And Games Planned For Maplewood National Night Out

What's happening for the National Night Out against crime in Maplewood next Tuesday? There'll be a mini-car show, bounce house, and more.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — On the first Tuesday of August each year, police departments across the country encourage residents to leave their lights on, talk to neighbors, and get to know their local police to show criminals that they're vigilant against crime.

And many communities, including Maplewood, host events.

This coming Tuesday, Aug. 2, the Maplewood Police Department host its National Night Out 2022.

National Night Out is described as "an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie."

This year's event in Maplewood will take place at DeHart Park (120 Burnett Ave.) from 6 to 9 p.m.

"We will have a mini car show, a game truck, bouncy houses, a live DJ , food and much more!" the police said on Facebook.
