NJ Transit is hiring bus operators and is offering "competitive pay and excellent benefits."

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Want to get a job driving a NJ Transit bus? Mark Wednesday, April 25 on the calendar… and tidy up your resume.

NJ Transit recently announced that it's hiring bus operators and is offering “competitive pay and excellent benefits.”

According to its website, NJ Transit will host a hiring event/test session for prospective bus operators at 5:30 p.m. on April 25 at 180 Boyden Avenue in Maplewood. Seating is limited and candidates will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. (Learn more and download an application here)

NJ Transit stated that it conducts full background checks prior to hiring candidates. According to the agency:

“The State of New Jersey has a residence requirement. NJ Transit will support an exemption for critical need positions. Approval from the Residence Committee is required.”
