One More Day to Enjoy Crane's Deli

Crane's Deli closes its doors forever tomorrow at 5 p.m. That's one more day to get your soup, cubano, breakfast burrito or a great cup of coffee!

is closing its doors forever on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5 p.m.

But don't cry yet! The seven-year-old Maplewood Village institution — which has brought artisanal soups, breads, cheeses and sandwiches to the masses — opens at 8 a.m. Saturday and will be serving the public until the shelves are bare!

The recent history of the cheese shop and deli has been a rollercoaster ride for fans — and for owner Steve Crane. Last year about this time, Crane announced he , only to when he worked out a deal with his landlord.

But that lease deal has expired and many factors — including the inability to find a suitable partner to take on some of the burden — have led to this final decision. Catering seems out of the question for now since Crane will be without his kitchen space.

Steve tells us that the doors will close at 5 p.m. At 5:01 p.m. he will be raising a glass to his dearly departed deli at . Steve has also promised to keep us in the loop on what comes next — we know it will be something good!
