Community Corner

North Jersey Pride Festival

Now in its fourth year, the North Jersey Pride Festival is an experience. This unique family-friendly event brings together LGBTQ folks and straight allies from all over the Garden State to celebrate diversity and promote equality. Attendance has increased an astonishing 400% year over year since our inaugural event. This year will be a joyous elaboration of our marriage equality win in New Jersey and we expect more than 5,000 attendees to join us.

Come with a blanket or some beach chairs and spread out on the lawn. Enjoy the fabulous show (and worry not about little ones, because ALL our entertainment is kid-proof). Browse the work of local artisans, shop our merchant vendors and sample fare from our famous Five-Star Food Court. And learn more about the wonderful LGBTQ and ally nonprofits that are doing important work in the community. It’s going to be an amazing day!

Entertainment. Our Main Stage features outstanding national and local talent. (And our entertainment contracts feature a special “PG” clause that ensures parents can enjoy the show without worrying about their little ones.) This year we are thrilled to feature the following headliners:

• De’Borah Garner (season 3 of NBC’s The Voice) showcases her visceral and sometimes raw vocal strength.

• The Kinsey Sicks, America’s Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet, delight audiences with their award-winning a cappella singing, sharp satire and over-the-top drag.

Kids’ Zone. The North Jersey Pride Festival is a family-friendly event and we promise tons of fun for our youngest visitors. This year, in addition to arts & crafts, inflatables, face-painting, and more, we’re debuting a live interactive Kids Stage, with activities every hour on the hour (including the Lizard Guys, kids Zumba, movement with Front & Center, story time) to keep kids busy all day!

Food Court. Our five-star food court is a highlight of the North Jersey Pride Festival. We showcase the best of our local eateries, offering gourmet edibles rather than the usual street fare.

Vendor Court. Our festival will have more than 90 vendors distributing information, selling wares and having fun! Learn more about how to be a part of Pride.

Getting Here. Maplewood is conveniently located near trains, highways and bodies of water. Wherever you’re coming from, we can get you here.

Admission: FREE (all are welcome!)
