Salta! Jump Into Spanish is a NJ-based Spanish language and cultural enrichment program that has debuted in several other locations before coming to Maplewood at the Dancer’s Pointe Studio (former Stories in Motion) at 1874 Springfield Avenue. Programs will be available to local-area toddlers, preschoolers and elementary school-aged children.

The Maplewood Center will offer Salta Schoolhouse, a Spanish-immersion preschool program, Parent-Child Classes for young toddlers, Art – with a focus on famous Spanish and Latin American artists, Language Builders – an interactive story-based class, and the LEAP reading and writing afterschool program for elementary school-aged children.

"Those familiar with our other centers can come to expect the same warm, nurturing environment provided by our native Spanish-speaking teachers at our new location in Maplewood," Sanin said. "Our teachers use innovative curriculum and interactive learning activities that enhance attentiveness and inspire students to develop a deep love for the Spanish language and culture.”

Salta’s other locations include Edison and two franchisee-owned centers located in Basking Ridge and Skillman. Salta has been in business for more than eight years.

“Salta is a program that grows with your child. It doesn’t just stop at the preschool age. We offer afterschool classes, summer camp and private tutoring. Your child will always have a place to go where they can develop their language skills and bring it to the next level. Your children will be engaged and challenged verbally, creatively and physically all of which helps propel them into fluency” adds Sanin.

Sanin sees Maplewood as a diverse and family-friendly community that is a natural fit for Salta. “We’ve actually had families commute to our Edison location from South Orange, Maplewood and Millburn so we knew there was definitely interest in a program such as ours. We are also thrilled to be sharing space with Dancer’s Pointe Studio."

Mary Dressendofer and Cathy Karosick of Dancer’s Pointe seem to share a similar philosophy and desire in terms of enriching children’s lives and motivating young minds. Together, we offer a center of artistic, linguistic, cultural and physical expression for children,” adds Salta Marketing Director, Carolyn Duarte Pierson.

Classes begin the week of September 19 and are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. An Open House is scheduled for Saturday, September 17th. All interested families are invited to attend and encouraged to register in advance.
