Prof. Richard White: Starting With Compassion

In many ways, compassion is the most basic ethical and spiritual virtue. It allows us to escape from our selfish perspective, while it opens us up to the reality of other lives. But what exactly is compassion and how can we cultivate compassion within ourselves? Born in the United Kingdom, White is a Professor of Philosophy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He has published books on love, the virtues, and the relationship between philosophy and spiritual life.
