Restaurant Week at the Village Tratt Is a Treat

Tonight, I decided to give Maplewood Village Restaurant Week a try and headed to Village Trattoria with the family for an extended family dinner. Business was booming with diners eating in and taking out as well. 

The specials tonight included Blackened Salmon over Broccoli Rabe, Gnocchi Bolognese and my choice, Sausage and Broccoli Ravioli in Vodka Sauce, which was delicious. The Sicilian slice of pizza that my dad enojyed was cooked exactly the way he liked it! The meatball parm served on a toasty roll got rave reviews from my brother. 

The kids always enjoy the pizza and pasta and tonight was no exception. As always, Angelo Vayas, owner and chef went out of his way to make sure the meal and atmosphere were enjoyable—even giving the kids delicious homemade cupcakes made by a local Maplewood woman.

During restaurant week, Village Trattoria is offering 25% off all blackboard specials. 

To top off the evening, we headed for the Village Ice Cream Parlour which is offering "buy one get one" if you show your receipt from a participating Restaurant Week restaurant. My eight-year-old son Drew devoured his Cookies and Cream ice cream cone before we even made it back to the car!
