Springfield Woman Killed By Train In Maplewood

NJ Transit identified Kara Beloreshka of Springfield as the victim struck and killed by a train near Maplewood Station Saturday night.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A Springfield woman was struck and killed by a train near Maplewood Station on Saturday night, NJ Transit officials confirm.

The victim, Kara Beloreshka, 45, of Springfield is also being listed onlineas an attorney in town with 17 years of experience.

The Morris-Essex line train struck Beloreshka around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 just west of the Maplewood Station, Jim Smith, spokesman for NJ Transit said.

There were 175 customers and crew on board Train 6940 at the time. There were no other reported injuries.

The train had left Dover at 9:05 p.m.and was scheduled to arrive at New York Penn Station at 10:59 p.m.

The accident caused service to be suspended during the investigation.

The incident is still under investigation.
