South Orange-Maplewood Delays School Start Monday

Inclement weather, icy conditions prompted the late start, officials said.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The cold and blustery weather has prompted a delayed opening for the South Orange Maplewood School District Monday.

For delayed opening, Montrose, elementary and middle schools start two hours later than their usually scheduled start times. All Columbia High School students should report to school at 10 a.m. Children that usually takes a bus to school should note the bus will arrive approximately two hours later than the typical pick up time. Before-care is canceled at all schools.
School Delayed Opening Schedule:

  • Columbia High School: 10 a.m.
  • Maplewood Middle School: 10:15 a.m.
  • South Orange Middle School: 10:15 a.m.
  • Clinton Elementary School: 10:05 a.m.
  • Jefferson Elementary School: 10:05 a.m.
  • Marshall Elementary School: 10:45 a.m.
  • Seth Boyden Elementary School: 10:45 a.m.
  • South Mountain – Big School: 10:10 a.m.
  • South Mountain - Annex: 10:00 a.m.
  • Tuscan Elementary School:10:45 a.m.
  • Montrose Early Childhood Center: 10:30 a.m.
