South Orange-Maplewood District Cancels After School Activities

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Plunging temperatures and a wind advisory has prompted the South Orange-Maplewood School District to cancel after school activities, according to officials.

"After school activities are cancelled for today at all SOMSD facilities, due to a wind advisory from the National Weather Service and the likelihood of hazardous travel conditions" the district said in as released.

According to officials, elementary school on-site after care through the YMCA will be open. All other activities, including elementary Beyond the Bell classes and Achieve tutoring sessions, are cancelled.
