Springfield Avenue Announces a Month of Harvest Events
Workshops for children, a retreat for women, pumpkin painting and artist presentations — all supported through a grant program provided by the Partnership as part of a month-long series.

Maplewood’s Springfield Avenue Partnership invites community residents and visitors to celebrate HarvestFest in October by participating in a variety of special events and activities hosted by businesses on the Avenue before the actual Fest itself on October 29.
The events include workshops for children, a retreat for women, pumpkin painting and artist presentations — all supported through a grant program provided by the Partnership. Read on:

Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. during the month of October, toddlers can enjoy a special lesson about Autumn and participate in a Fall inspired art project. This program is offered as part of Express Yourself Studios’ weekly Crafty Toddler Workshop open to children ages 2-4. The Crafty Toddler Workshop is $15 per child/per session (all materials included). Engaging Fall Colors, October 28 & 29, 2011 October
Astah's Fine Art Gallery, 1897 Springfield Avenue
There will be two artists (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Oct. 28 and from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 29) who will display their art and sculptures with emphasis on the fall in terms of their colors and background. The artist will be at the receptions to discuss their works.
In addition to the business events, the Springfield Avenue Partnership will present Maplewood’s third annual HarvestFest on Saturday, October 29 featuring a petting zoo, pony & hay rides, a live children’s concert with Polka Dot and Pals & DJ, Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos, a Classic Car Show, Maplewood’s Fire Department’s Fire Safety Education Trailer and food sales from participating food vendors.
