The Wizard of Oz—Take Two

The show went on as rescheduled, as families gathered to watch this classic film—without a tornado warning.

After cancelling "The Wizard of Oz" due to the threat of a major storm on Friday evening, there were many familiar faces in the crowd Saturday evening as movie-goers braved the sweltering heat and came out to watch the 1939 film.

George Rague, Maplewood Recreation Director, promised a storm-free night as the large turnout relaxed and enjoyed the show.

A nearly full moon shone over the movie screen as the audience enjoyed the show.  Some even sang along to the familiar songs as they picnicked in the park. At ten o'clock, the movie ended and with a round of applause, the audience packed up and followed the yellow brick roads leading home.
