Three Arrested In Robbery, Assault Of Minor: Maplewood Police

Daijon Williams, Kirk Bissessor and Renlande Saint Jean were charged after an attack in Dehart Park, police said.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - An 19-year-old Newark man, an 18-year-old Irvington man and an 18-year-old Irvington woman were arrested after an robbery of a minor in Dehart Park on Feb. 4, according to the Maplewood Police Department.

According to police, At approximately 5:45 p.m., a 16-year-old male was exiting Dehart Park when he was assaulted. The police said that at least three males attacked him and took his phone, headphones and backpack before fleeing. Officers responded to the area and located several individuals in the area. Following the investigation on scene, two males, Daijon Williams, 19, of Newark and Kirk Bissessor, 18, of Irvington were arrested for the robbery and a female, Renlande Saint Jean, 18, of Irvington was arrested for possession of stolen property, police said. Saint Jean was in possession of the victim's backpack, police said. No serious injuries were sustained by the victim.

Both men were transported to Essex County Jail and Saint Jean was released on a summons, police said.
