Township Unveiling New Fitness Equipment at DeHart Park

A fitness professional will be available to teach attendees how to properly use each piece of equipment.

Getting fit is now a walk in the park -- literally.

The Township of Maplewood will unveil its new fitness equipment at DeHart Park, located at 120 Burnett Avenue in Maplewood, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Saturday at noon. The purchase of the equipment, now part of the park’s “Trail of Wellness,” came after a grant from ShapingNJ and the township’s open space trust fund.

Equipment, which was all designed by Healthbeat Outdoor Fitness system, includes a chest/back press, cardio stepper, squat press, pull-up station, crunch/leg-lift station and assisted rowing/push-up station. The stations are all best suited for those 13 and older.

A fitness progressional will be at the ceremony to give demonstrations on how to properly use each piece of equipment.
