Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charge In Madison
Jamaal Q. Milfort was arrested after an investigation on Jan. 8.

MADISON, NJ - A 24-year-old Newark man was arrested after a traffic stop and charged with drug possession on Jan. 8, according to the Madison Police Department.
According to officials, Patrolman Kyle McDermott stopped Jamaal Q. Milfort’s vehicle on Main Street for an equipment violation. Upon speaking with Milfort, McDermott observed signs of drug use inside of the vehicle, police said. After an investigation, Milfort was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, police said. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana-under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, both disorderly person’s offenses, police said.
Milfort was released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
