Woman Robbed While Waiting For Gas In Maplewood; Police Seek 2 Men
The Maplewood police said they're seeking 2 men or teens in connection with a robbery at a gas station Thursday evening.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Maplewood police said Friday morning that they're seeking two suspects in a robbery at a local gas station on Thursday evening.
Police said they received a 911 call from a 43-year-old Maplewood woman who said she was just robbed while getting gas at Richards Service Station at 1459 Springfield Ave.
The woman said that while in her vehicle waiting for gas, two young men, possibly teens, appeared at the passenger side and demanded money "while implying they were in possession of a handgun." No weapon was shown.

One of the men reached into the vehicle and removed her purse from the passenger seat, the woman said.
The pair then left in a gray SUV, heading eastbound on Springfield Avenue.

The pair were described as: a black male, 16-18 years old, thin, wearing a tan t-shirt and dark hooded sweatshirt, and a black male with a medium build, approximately 16-18 years old, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
The woman was not physically touched by the men or injured, police said.
