Words and Perch Home Give Back to Local School

A percentage of purchases made between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m. December 2, at Words bookstore and Perch will be donated to the Seth Boyden Elementary School PTA.

The Seth Boyden "Strawberry Fields" email list is often abuzz with the fact that the school has received almot $5,000 from a school/credit card give-back program at Target.

Local merchants have not been deaf to the efforts by the big box retailer and, though not able to match the volume or sophistication of Target's promotion, are crafting their own efforts to give back to local schools--and drive some shopping traffic.

Perch Home and Words bookstore in Maplewood Village gave a percentage of their sales the evening of Wednesday, December 2, to Seth Boyden PTA. After making purchases, shoppers were encouraged to enjoy discounts on selected appetizers and beverages at Cent'anni.
